Another key piece of the Chicago Bears defense is set to return from injury this weekend. According to ESPN NFL insider Jeremy Fowler, the Bears plan to activate linebacker Tremaine Edmunds from injured reserve ahead of Saturday's pivotal matchup against the Green Bay Packers.
Edmunds has missed the last four games with a groin injury he suffered in the team's 19-17 win over the Minnesota Vikings. The Bears designated him for return earlier in the week, and he had been progressing well in practice. Now, it appears he will be on the field this Saturday as the Bears continue their push to the postseason.

In 10 games, Edmunds has 89 total tackles, three for loss, one sack, nine passes defensed, and four interceptions. Despite missing four games, Edmunds' four interceptions are tied for third among all NFL players.
Edmunds has been a pivotal player in defensive coordinator Dennis Allen's system when he's been healthy and now reunites with TJ Edwards. The two players who both signed as free agents in 2023 have excellent chemistry together but haven't played in the same game since Week 9 against the Cincinnati Bengals. The Bears need Edmunds to help put the clamps on Green Bay's offense after they scored 28 points against the defense two weeks ago. He will likely be on a snap count and rotate with linebackers D'Marco Jackson and Noah Sewell throughout the game.
