The Heated Rivalry cast has taken the world by storm, skyrocketing into fame after the show's first episode aired on Max on November 28. Though many of the romantic drama's stars seem to have become overnight sensations, you've actually likely seen them on your screen before.
Heated Rivalry is an adaptation of Rachel Reid's book series, and it essentially centers on the personal lives of two successful hockey players, but it's not the intense sport that keeps viewers watching. The show's real action lies in what happens off the ice, and, more often than not, it's pretty steamy. Heated Rivalry season 2 is already confirmed, which goes to show how popular the series and its characters have become.
Hudson Williams as Shane Hollander

This is the first leading television role for the 24-year-old actor, though it's far from his first acting gig. Williams was featured in Nobody Dumps my Daughter, All I Need for Christmas, and Tracker, as well as multiple short films. Williams recently signed with Creative Artists Agency, which will likely set him up for future projects.
Shane Hollander is an Asian-Canadian hockey player who begins the show as the typical goody-two-shoes, though that changes soon after he meets Ilya Rozanov. The two rivals go down the enemies-to-lovers path, which becomes difficult to navigate with both of them in the public eye.
Connor Storrie as Ilya Rozanov

The Texas native had his first major film debut in Joker: Folie à deux, where he played a young inmate alongside Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga. The DC sequel premiered in 2024, just one year before his breakthrough performance in Heated Rivalry. Storrie also previously starred in Tiny Beautiful Things and April X.
Rozanov is a Russian hockey player who's the captain of the Boston Raiders. Also exceptionally talented at the sport, he experiences lots of pressure to represent his home country, which also causes tension between him and his family, especially his passionately patriotic father.
François Arnaud as Scott Hunter

François Arnaud is an actor and producer born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The 40-year-old actor is best known for his performance as Cesare Borgia in The Borgias and as Sammy in Twinless. He also had appearances in Schitt's Creek and Yellowjackets and will star in ALICE, HBO Max, and France Télévision's series on the first female director, Alice Guy Blanché.
Scott Hunter makes his first appearance in episode 3, where we get to see a flashback of his relationship with Kip Grady. Hunter plays for the New York Admirals and struggles with his homosexuality, which led to extreme secrecy both on and off the ice.

Canadian actor Robbie G.K. first became known for his role as Temp in Utopia Falls and has since appeared on Overcompensating as Riley, which also came out this year on Peacock.
Kip Grady works as a barista at a smoothie shop when he first meets Scott Hunter. Grady is immediately smitten with him, though he's unsure of the hockey player's sexuality. He ultimately becomes Hunter's good luck charm, among other things.
Ksenia Daniela Kharlamova as Svetlana Vetrova

Ksenia Daniela Kharlamova made her acting debut in Downsizing in 2017, where she played a colony member. She's gone on to star in The Boys, Adults, and A Very Jonas Christmas Movie, among other projects.
Kharlamova plays Svetlana Vetrova, who is Ilya Rozanov's childhood friend and occasional lover. She's a constant source of support for Rozanov while he navigates his personal life, even when she realizes her romantic feelings for him aren't reciprocated.
Sophie Nélisse as Rose Landry

Canadian actress Sophie Nélisse is best known for starring in Yellowjackets, where she played the teenage version of Shauna. She's also recognized from The Book Thief, where she worked with Emily Watson and Geoffrey Rush. In 2019, she played the leading character, Mia, in 47 Meters Down: Uncaged, and she's now confirmed to star in the adaptation of Kathleen Glasgow's novel, Girl in Pieces, alongside fellow Yellowjackets star Courtney Eaton.
Rose Landry is an actress who met Shane while she was filming a movie in Montreal. The two end up dating, but it's more about publicity than genuine attraction for Shane. Rose eventually begins to speculate that Shane is gay, and while the couple breaks up, she offers to stay by his side and be his confidant as he navigates this part of his life.
