The ending of Spider-Man: No Way Home saw Tom Holland's Peter Parker saving the world via a major spell, preventing all kinds of multiversal chaos. Currently, no one knows who Peter Parker is in the MCU thanks to a spell cast by Doctor Strange (though that may soon be undone).
2026 will see the release of both Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Avengers: Doomsday. Thanks to some recent reveals for the latter, I do think we might see No Way Home's ending spell broken, just in time for the MCU Webslinger to join Earth's Mightiest Heroes as they attempt to save the multiverse.
No One Will Remember Peter Parker in Spider-Man: Brand New Day

When Brand New Day begins, Peter Parker will more than likely be completely on his own. While it was necessary to prevent a major multiversal incursion, Doctor Strange’s spell ensured that no one remembers Peter Parker ever existed, while apparently still remembering Spider-Man as a masked hero who helped save the world.
That isolation is the entire point of Peter's sacrifice at the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home. Without his friends like MJ, Ned, or even Happy, Peter is totally alone by the movie's end, broke, anonymous, and living in a small apartment.
All Peter has now is Spider-Man, echoing classic street-level stories in comics, and it will be fascinating to see how that new status quo is explored in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. That said, it stands to reason that Peter will eventually be remembered in some capacity sooner rather than later.
Theory: Steve Rogers' Return In Avengers: Doomsday Could Break Doctor Strange's Spider-Man Spell

Released as the first in a series of trailers ahead of Avatar: Fire & Ash, the first teaser for 2026's Avengers: Doomsday remarkably confirmed that Chris Evans' Steve Rogers is set to return in the next big MCU crossover.
As we saw at the end of 2019's Avengers: Endgame, it was established that Rogers lived decades in the past, reuniting with Peggy Carter after returning the Infinity Stones and finally getting to have the dance he promised her in the first Captain America movie before he was frozen and thawed out 70 years later.
Interestingly, it's worth noting that Steve Rogers' return to his own time in the past means he left the present timeline before Doctor Strange cast the spell at the end of 2021's Spider-Man: No Way Home.
As a result, this could mean Steve was outside the spell's reach, assuming the spell rewrote memories within the specific temporal frame of the present. If that's indeed true, Steve’s return to the present to protect his happy ending with Peggy (and their new child) might also make him the only person who still remembers that Peter Parker is Spider-Man.
All things considered, Steve Rogers remembering Peter Parker could serve as the perfect catalyst that sees the entire spell being undone just in time for a brand-new assembly of Earth's Mightiest Heroes in Doomsday and/or 2027's Avengers: Secret Wars.
We Need Peter Parker To Be Remembered Before The Next Two Avengers Movies

Overall, keeping Peter Parker forgotten throughout two whole Avengers films would be a massive narrative waste. It's been proven that Tom Holland's Spider-Man very much thrives on team dynamics and interacting with other heroes. Fighting beside heroes who no longer know him would absolutely drain those moments of meaning, disregarding all the development seen in previous Avengers movies.
Imagine Peter Parker interacting with heroes he fought alongside and stood next to during Tony Stark's funeral, knowing they once knew about him but now have zero recollection of who he is or their past histories. It would be a major bummer and would likely feel pretty empty for audiences overall.

You can unsubscribe anytime.Even if it's not through Steve Rogers' return, breaking the No Way Home spell in Avengers: Doomsday in some way after exploring its effects in Brand New Day feels like the right way to go. The next two Avengers movies (and future Spider-Man movies) will no doubt be better off for it.
If Marvel Studios wants Tom Holland's Spider-Man to remain one of the biggest emotional hearts of the MCU, Peter Parker must be remembered again, at least by the people who matter most in his life.
One movie where he's forgotten should be enough for us to feel the loss and struggle. It'll be much better if Peter Parker is remembered in time to save the multiverse in the next two Avengers movies.
